Matthew 5:43-45 - “[Love for Enemies] "You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. Pastor’s Greeting

Welcome to Sandpoint United Methodist Church. We are delighted that you are visiting us and hope that you will return again and again.

Our mission and the mission of the United Methodist Church is to “make disciples of Christ for the transformation of the world.” That’s a fancy way of saying that we invite you to share our faith, and that we are convinced that this world we all call home will be a different and better place if we place our trust in Jesus Christ.

We do not claim to have all the answers. In fact, we are a little concerned about those that do. The God that we serve and worship is beyond our understanding and we are on a lifelong journey together to know God better. We invite you to join us on that journey.

“Open hearts, open minds, and open doors” is the United Methodist credo and we are constantly trying to live into that credo as a church family. The Sandpoint United Methodist Church has served Sandpoint for more than 100 years. We stand on the shoulders of those who have gone before and look to a future full of hope and promise for our church and our community.

This website provides a sampling of our ministries and programs.

Grace and Peace to you in the Name of Jesus Christ!

Mission Salad Potluck and Pie Auction

February 14, Valentine's Day we will have a Salad Potluck right after church sponsored by the Mission Team.  Following lunch, a pie and other desserts auction will be held to raise money for the mission of Devi Bhujel in Nepal, and to buy equipment to make Plumpy Nut butter for  children in Africa.  Bring salad, dessert to auction off AND plenty of money to buy your favorite dessert to support these worthy causes.

Ash Wednesday Supper and Worship Service

We will begin our Ash Wednesday ( February 17th) gathering with a Soup Supper at 6:00 pm, followed by a worship service beginning at 6:30 pm in the sanctuary.

Group Study - The Shack

A weekly group study based on the book "The Shack" by Wm. Paul Young will be held Thursdays at 10:30 am, at Luther Park, beginning January 7th, and continuing through February 11th.  This is a fascinating book that you will either love or hate, but  that you should not ignore.  Discussion should be lively.

Bible Study - Invitation to John

This 11 week study will be offered on Sunday nights at 6:00 pm and Thursday mornings at 9:00 am, beginning on January 10th.  This is the fifth in the series of short-term Disciple Bible Studies.
